Double Page Analysis 2 - Kerrang

Here is the second part of my double page analysis. There are a lot of features in this double page spread and I think that everything used has made the final look of the interview very effective to the reader.

Double Page Analysis 1 - Kerrang

I chosen an issue of Kerrang to analyse as part of my research. Here is the first part of my double page analysis, I found this very helpful because it gave me an insight into what I need to include in my final magazine.

Magazine Research Task

As I am doing the print brief, I have gathered together some research on a magazine that I am very familiar with called 'Kerrang'. I have analysed the front cover of an issue on Padlet and i now have more of an understanding about what is included on the front of a magazine and why.

Pinterest Account

I have attached my Pinterest account, I will use this for my research when it comes to practical work because I think there are a lot of things on Pinterest that would be very inspirational to me and my work. You can also find Photoshop tutorials which I'm sure will come in useful. Visit Emily's profile on Pinterest.

Mise En Scene Glossary

Different genres of film especially will require certain properties in order to get the theme across to the audience. These features are called Mise En Scene and I have created a table to show the different areas that are looked at closely within each film in order to fit with the genre. I have stated the name of the area, included a picture as an example and wrote about how the area affects the scene; I have also gave some examples of television programmes that have strong themes and require certain things in order to get the story across.

Media Glossary

Above, I have created a Glossary with all of the Media terms on that we will need to know. I have included examples of each of the terms and spoke about what they are and how they are normally used within Media. This is for revision purposes and I think I will find this very helpful.

Prelim Evaluation

I have evaluated my Film Prelim exercise here. I have shown the different shots that I have used in my piece, spoke about things that I felt were good in my Prelim, and points that I could improve on for next time.

Assessment 3: Map 1. Prelim 2014

Placing An Image In Text On Photoshop - Follow Of Tutorial

I created this edit by following this tutorial: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/image-in-text-photoshop-cs6/. I think that this is a very simple but effective technique and I think that it looks really good. Next time, I could experiment with different words that are not places, so I could create one using a picture of me with my name over the top, a name and photo of my favourite food, my family or my favourite kind of music.

Skills Analysis Sheet

Here I have included an initial skills analysis of what I already know and don't know about programmes and technology that we will be using in Media throughout the year. By the end of the course, I hope to be fully confident within all areas and create work to a very high standard.
