- Cost
- Name and short description of my magazine
- Images of the issue in standard and digital form
- The website
- Special gift for subscribers
- The logo of the media group who I have selected to publish my issue
- Social networking sites
I am very happy with how it turned out overall, and I think I have displayed the relevant information that will hopefully increase the popularity of my magazine.

Adding of Pick and Badge - Double Page Spread
I feel that after adding two things to the gap that was on my Double Page has made a big difference, and I really like the look of it.I added Tom's pick and a Silver Badge, I also gave them both a Drop Shadow in order to make them stand out more in comparison to the text.
Blank Space Issue - Double Page Spread
As there is a little bit of empty space above the photo of Beth to the right of my Double Page, I have decided to take some photographs of Tom's pick that I have (mentioned in the interview) and some Blink 182 badges to put into this gap to create a small collage in the corner. Not only will this fill the gap, but it will make the page look more interesting and it links with the story also. I have created a contact sheet to show my images that I quickly took of the items.
Double Page Spread - Progress Evaluation
I have started to create my Double Page Spread and I am very happy with how it is looking. In order to make my text be in even columns, I have had to put a couple of extra spaces after some words, however I have noticed that this occurs in Kerrang Magazine, so I think it will be ok for my magazine. Also, I have highlighted the interview questions in Blue to make them look like they have been highlighted by someone (the same effect I wanted to create with my story intro). I think this works well as it makes the questions stand out and prevents the reader from getting confused. In order to make my page look more interesting, I also added a photo of Beth to the bottom right corner of the page, and I really like how this turned out.I am very happy with how it is coming out and I am excited to see the final result.
Contact Sheet - Double Page Details
I wasn't entirely sure, but just incase, I decided to do another quick photoshoot with my model Beth in the college studio. I did this because I hadn't decided if I wanted any images in my Double Page Spread, so I felt that doing a shoot would be helpful if I wanted a variety of images to choose from. Here are the contact sheets from this shoot.
Monday 4th December 2014 Lesson Review
Today in the lesson, the main focus was my Double Page Spread, as my other two pages are finished. The main part I was working on was the test that is going to form my story. I experimented with various fonts and after initially selecting Ebrima, I decided against this and went for Charcoal CY as I feel that it will stand out more to the reader. I also wanted to make my intro to stand out, so I came up with an idea to make it look highlighted, and I really like this idea as you can see it clearly.

Cover Page Update - Wednesday 3rd December 2014
I have continued working on my Cover Page with the feature photo as the Medium Long Shot because I think it looks better, and you can see my model in more detail. I have also changed my Sub-Headline for my main story, my model Beth is a famous artist who loves a band, I have done this in order to make my magazine appeal to more, because if people love a certain famous person, then they are going to be more likely to buy a magazine with them on the front opposing to a stranger. I have also added two more stories onto the cover in order to fill up a bit of left over space that there was. I also changed the colour of the boxes on my Kevin Skaff and Mark Hoppus stories to Yellow from Pink, I did this because I felt my cover was turning a little too feminine, and I want it to appeal to all genders.

Cover Image Experimentation - Tuesday 2nd December 2014
I have experimented with my Cover Image, I have two versions of my piece, the first one with a full body shot of my model, and the second is a Medium Close Up of my model. I really like both of the designs and I am stuck with which one I prefer, however, I feel that the Medium Long Shot will attract more readers as you can see the image better, so I may go with the second style for my final piece.
Tuesday 2nd December 2014 Lesson Review
Overall, I am happy with my progress today in the lesson. I have decided to add a third page to my Double Page Spread as most main articles that I have seen in issues of kerrang, require a third page in order to get all of the text on. So I have started to make this, having my model Beth, as quite a big part of this page. I have also added some Polaroid Pictures to my Double Page Spread, I think these look very effective and different. I haven't decided on their final location yet, but I am very happy with how they look.

Page Numbers
In order to make sure that the reader doesn't get confused, I have added Page Numbers to the bottom corners of my Double Page Spread. I used the Shape and Text Tools in Photoshop and for Page Five, I made sure the number was on the end of the page so it can be seen when the reader is quickly flicking through the pages.
Pencil Sketch Detail
In order to make my page look more like pages from a scrapbook, I decided to add a pencil onto the page with a pencil drawn line. I first used the Magnetic Lasso to cut out and image that I found on Google, I then dragged it onto my Double Page, then I used the painbrush tool to create my line, I changed the colour of the 'ink' to the same colour as the pencil point using the colour picker, and I also changed the mode of the paintbrush to 2B pencil to make it look more authentic. And at the end of the line, I added a scribble.
Double Page Spread - Development
I have started to build up my Double Page Spread slowly but surely. I have added the caption to my story in quite a unique way, I have made almost like a banner to go underneath my Headline. I really like the look of this and I think it looks very scrapbook style.
Evidence of Photography
Below, I have attached two photos that were taken of me just as I was preparing to take some photos of my model Beth. These were taken on Friday 28th November 2014 in the Brinkburn College Studio.
Monday 1st December 2014 Lesson Review
Today in the lesson, I spent time improving my Cover Page and Contents Page after speaking with Sally (screenshots shown in previous blog posts below). I have also started to create my Double Page Spread, so far I have positioned my Headline and Background, I am going with the crumpled paper again in order to make my pages look more uniform, however I am planning on experimenting with the Blink Background that I created also to see what this looks like.
Contents Page - Main Image Update
After talking with Sally, we both felt that my Feature Image could have been better, this is because it didn't have a very suitable background. So, I cut out my model from the image using the Magnetic Lasso Tool in Photoshop and then put it on top of an image of my Blink 182 flag. I think that this looks a lot better, and it links in very well with the theme of my Double Page Spread.
Cover Page Update
Previously, my Skyline was Pink, my Puff was Blue, and my Feature Image was very transparent around the edges, and some of the background could be seen through the image. Here is a before and after of the initial Cover Page, and my Improved Cover Page. I changed the colours of the Skyline and Puff as I felt it looked slightly too feminine so I wanted more Blue on it. And I have made the Feature Image less transparent around the edges and I like it so much better.
