Editing Images In Photoshop

I have began to experiment with editing my photos in Photoshop. I am doing this in order to make my images look better when presented in my magazine. For this photo, I experimented with changing the curves of the image in order to make it more bright and vibrant. I have included the before and after result. I didn't want the change to be obvious because I didn't want to lose the quality of my image and make it look too edited to the reader.
